PTP Recovery Network LLC
PTP Recovery Network hosts a closed Internet Relay Chat system dedicated to online recovery groups.

Formerly closed to the "NA Chatroom," PTP Recovery Network's goal is to extend a mature feature set and platform to groups in other languages, formats, and/or fellowships.

  1. Applications
Meeting Mode: Online support meetings with an automated chat robot playing selected readings and ensuring that only one person can share at a time. Hotline Mode: Staffed by dedicated volunteers and/or members of the group who drop in to help.
  2. Virtual Alano Club
We simply rent or provide space to online support/recovery groups, exactly like a traditional "alano club" or clubhouse. Increase participation with FREE third party clients for desktop and mobile devices.
  3. Chat Application Hosting
Your room can be open 24/7 in "hotline" mode, or only during meeting times. You decide if your meetings are "open" or "closed and password protected." Our basic service is free to any online support group.
  4. Technology
Embed our chat into your website as an "iframe" to add hotline and/or meeting functionality. Dues paying groups are provided with a chat robot. We detect and block TOR nodes, proxies, and VPNs to minimize disruptions.
  5. World Wide Meeting Times
Eliminate the guesswork involved with trying to calculate the next meeting time for visitors around the world. Embed the schedule into your existing webpage. Groups with a chat robot can simply type !meetings or !nextmeeting
  6. Support
Chairperson and bot training as well as up to forty customizable chat macros and forty bot trigger keywords are offered to groups that pay dues/donations. Email and limited telephone / chat support are available during business hours.

    About Us
Effective March 2018, after 12 years in existence the NA Chatroom divested its chat platform and hosted servers into a "virtual clubhouse" called PTP Recovery Network. The NA Chatroom is now only responsible for $30 a month in rent plus renewal of its domain registrations, and the platform is now open to other recovery/support groups who want what we have here.

The group never even came close to supporting the infrastructure necessary in order to run through its own contributions and its founder (who is a member of a 12-step fellowship "other than NA") would like  to move on to other areas of service while continuing to work on the bots and tools we enjoy there.

Cues are being taken from the "long form" of AA's Tradition Six, which states:

Problems of money, property, and authority may easily divert us from our primary spiritual aim. We think, therefore, that any considerable property of genuine use to A.A. should be separately incorporated and managed, thus dividing the material from the spiritual. An A.A. group, as such, should never go into business. Secondary aids to A.A., such as clubs or hospitals which require much property or administration, ought to be incorporated and so set apart that, if necessary, they can be freely discarded by the groups. Hence such facilities ought not to use the A.A. name. Their management should be the sole responsibility of those people who financially support them. For clubs, A.A. managers are usually preferred. But hospitals, as well as other places of recuperation, ought to be well outside A.A. -- and medically supervised. While an A.A. group may cooperate with anyone, such cooperation ought never go so far as affiliation or endorsement, actual or implied. An A.A. group can bind itself to no one.
